The drive here was the farthest south we drove in northern Madagascar on this trip. We passed the Marojejy National Park entrance we visited in 2022. We made a brief stop at the education and fee center where some members of our group purchased locally produced vanilla beans as they had in 2022. We stayed two nights in Andapa at the Beanana Hotel. The food was good and the drinks were cold. In addition to the visit at the Antanetiambo Private Reserve, we also did a night hike at Beradaka. Most of our group searched in and around the river for frogs. We heard plenty but I don’t think it was as productive as they expected it would be. It was too dark and getting to the riverbank looked a little dangerous to me so I stayed on the path above the river with Mike. He was finally starting to feel a little better.
The picture above was taken on that path. The frog looked like he was interested in eating the Dragonfly, but he wouldn’t have been able to fit it in his mouth.
